Georgia Blain is a former lawyer and journalist whose highly acclaimed first novel Closed for Winter was published in both Australia and the UK and was made into a feature film in 2009. It was followed by Candelo and The Blind Eye. Her fourth novel Names for Nothingness was published by Picador, and her memoir, Births Deaths and Marriages was launched at Adelaide Writers Week 2008. Her first novel for children, Darkwater, will be published by Random House in 2010.
