Gillian Bouras was born in Melbourne and lived in Australia before moving to Greece with her husband and children in 1980. Her first book A Foreign Wife was written about this experience, and was followed by A Fair Exchange. Her novel Aphrodite and the Others won a NSW State Literary Award and was shortlisted for the UK Fawcett Book Prize. She is also the author of A Stranger Here, Starting Again and No Time for Dances. Gillian also writes for children; Saving Christmas was published by UQP and Alexandra Aphrodite was publsihed by Lothian in 2007. She is currently working on a sequel to A Foreign Wife.
