Fran Cusworth is an author and journalist who lives in MelbourneAustralia with her husband and two young sons. She worked for 15 years in newswire and newspapers, writing The Love Child after the birth of her first child, snatching time during naps and trainrides. She quit her job and moved with her family to the tiny and remote town of Hopetoun, Western Australia, in 2006, where her husband worked as a geologist on a new nickel mine. She stayed 18 months and wrote Hopetoun Wives, which Penguin published in 2009, before the family returned to Melbourne. She has studied writing at various universities, and is presently doing a PhD whilst working on her next novel.
