Alex Swan

Alex Swan is a Canberra-based author. Her debut novel is Milkweed. Alex’s writing draws heavily on her own experiences of child loss. Her first son, Edgar, was born with a brainstem anomaly in 2020 which affected his ability to breathe on his own. Edgar came off life support at a month old. Alex wanted to write honestly about the pain and isolation of infant loss. Alex is also a former political journalist and producer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and now works in federal politics.
