Melanie La’Brooy

Melanie La'Brooy is an award-winning novelist whose career spans romantic comedies, newspaper columns and children's books. She is the author of five romantic comedy novels that were published in Australia and in multiple overseas territories, including the US and UK. Her debut fantasy novel for children, The Wintrish Girl, won the Aurealis Award and the DANZ award, was shortlisted for the Readings Children's Prize and longlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year. Melanie has also written extensively  on politics for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, in her signature comedic style.  

For fourteen years Melanie travelled the world, living in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. She now lives in Melbourne. 

Melanie's surname is pronounced La - Broy to rhyme with Troy. It's confusing, she knows.
