Alexandra Christie
Agent
Alexandra joined Curtis Brown as a literary agent in 2024, representing both established and debut writers of fiction and non-fiction. Previously, she was Rights Director at Giramondo Publishing Company and Editor of HEAT, Australia’s international literary magazine. Alexandra was also employed as a literary agent in The Wylie Agency’s New York office, and across her career has worked with winners of the Stella Prize, the Miles Franklin Literary Award, the Pulitzer Prize, the United States’ National Book Awards, and the International Booker Prize.
Alexandra is an omnivorous reader with a passion for distinctive literary fiction, meticulously plotted crime fiction, and immersive, character-driven novels that play with genre. In non-fiction, she’s drawn to narratives that explore unknown worlds, investigative reporting, political journalism, unflinching memoirs, and the occasional cookbook. She also has an interest in modern classics and literary estates. Above all, she seeks out voices with an underlying intelligence, a precise eye for detail, and a sense of curiosity.
A few books Alexandra has loved and wished she’d represented: Australian Gospel by Lech Blaine, Flashlight by Susan Choi, Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McCallister, Missing, Presumed by Susie Steiner, Joe Cinque’s Consolation by Helen Garner, Hospital by Sanya Rushdi, Praise by Andrew McGahn, Theory & Practice by Michelle de Kretser, The Mother Is Restless and She Doesn’t Know Why by Gemma Parker, The First Bad Man by Miranda July, The Vegetarian by Han Kang, Strangers to Ourselves by Rachel Aviv, Dinner by Meera Sodha, among many others.
